Federal Government Sources

  • NCBI Databases - National Center for Biotechnology Information - U.S. government-funded national resource for molecular biology information. Access to many public databases and other reference tools.
  • PubChem - PubChem is a component of NIH's Molecular Libraries Roadmap Initiative. It provides information on the biological activities of small molecules. PubChem is organized as three linked databases within the NCBI's Entrez information retrieval system.
  • Environmental Health, Toxicology, and Chemical Information - Specialized information services from the National Library of Medicine including Environmental Health Maps, NLM Resources on Diseases and the Environment, and Alternatives to Animal Testing database among others.
  • ToxNet - (TOXicology Data NETwork) from the National Library of Medicine is a group of databases covering chemicals and drugs, diseases and the environment, environmental health, occupational safety and health, poisoning, risk assessment and regulations, and toxicology.
