The library evaluation criteria below will guide our decision-making for bound periodicals, government documents, and monographs. The goal of these criteria is to balance researchers’ continued access to content with assurance that the Library will contribute to the broader scholarly infrastructure by retaining its most unique and rare materials.
To support our analysis, the library will be using the GreenGlass collection evaluation tool from OCLC. GreenGlass provides us with comprehensive data to evaluate our collections relative to other libraries's holdings, their overall rarity, usage, and many other elements.
Throughout the collections review, our principal goal will be to ensure continued access to all of the content that is part of the Library's print collections today. When making title-by-title decisions on whether to retain the print, we will be prioritizing the availability of that content in digital format, whether that is through existing journal or ebook packages, or in a trusted digital repository.
