Citation Styles

The most often used citation style for Psychology is APA. Individual health journals either use AMA, or a variant of it. Ask your professor which style you should use.

American Psychological Association (APA)
Commonly used citation style for Psychology, Nursing, education, and other social sciences. APA style uses parentheses to cites sources in text (author, year).
American Medical Association (AMA)
Most medical journals use a variation of AMA. This numerical style uses superscript numbers to cite sources in text.
