Research in Classical Studies

Classicists study the ancient world - typically Greece and Rome, but also other times and places - using languages, literature, history, religion, and archaeology.

Classicists read and/or produce:

  • articles in scholarly, peer reviewed journals presenting results of original research and analyses of existing evidence.
  • books, which can provide a broad overview of a topic (often for non-specialists), or they can provide the space for a more expanded presentation of research or scholarly analysis of a topic.
  • primary sources - anything surviving from the ancient world.
