There are two options to create a link to an online resource – article, book, database, etc. – the library owns or subscribes to, and make it easily accessible for Wesleyan users while off campus. Look for an option for a "Permalink," "Stable URL," or "Persistent URL" at the resource you want to link to; if none is available, use the URL for the resource in the top menu bar of your browser.
Then, either:
1. Enter the URL of the resource in this link generator, then use the resulting OpenAthens link.
- or -
2. Add the tag
https://go.openathens.net/redirector/wesleyan.edu?url=
before the URL of the resource.
* If you have created links in the past with EZproxy and you want to reuse them, you will need to update the links with the new OpenAthens tag. Just replace the EZproxy tag
http://ezproxy.wesleyan.edu/login?url=
with the OpenAthens tag
https://go.openathens.net/redirector/wesleyan.edu?url=
For example, an article on "The distracted student mind: enhancing its focus and attention" in The Phi Delta Kappan available in JSTOR has a "Stable URL" of https://www.jstor.org/stable/26388265. Copy that URL and add the tag above to create a link that looks like:
https://go.openathens.net/redirector/wesleyan.edu?url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/26388265
That link will automatically bring up Wesleyan's Single Sign-On; or, if you are already signed in, it will go directly to the article.
If you can, test your link from off campus before making it available for others to use. If it does not work, please report the problem to us.
