The library often purchases materials (books, ebooks, videos, etc.) based on user recommendations. Any registered students, faculty and staff of Wesleyan University may recommend a purchase. You may email acquisitions suggestions directly to acq@wesleyan.edu or submit a Purchase Recommendation Form.
If the item is being purchased for an academic course reserve, you can expedite your request by submitting a Course Reserve Request instead. The Reserve staff will then submit the Purchase Request.
We borrow books, articles, documents, microforms, videos and sound recordings from many libraries around the world. Although most items can be obtained within two weeks, it is impossible to know exactly how long it might take to receive an item you request through InterLibrary Loan, so plan ahead.
ILL articles will be delivered to you electronically. You will be notified by email when an article is available for you to download from your ILL account.
Books will be held in the ILL office on the first floor of Olin. You will be notified by email when a book is available to pick up from the ILL office.
The Boston Library Consortium
The Boston Library Consortium (BLC) permits Wesleyan faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students to use BLC member libraries and borrow materials in person at those libraries.
To obtain access to the BLC libraries, you must request a consortium card from EunJoo Lee, Head of Access Services at Olin Library (elee01@wesleyan.edu). Please see BLC's Consortium Card for more details about using BLC libraries.
Yale University library privileges sponsored by the Wesleyan Library are available for Wesleyan faculty. If you would like to request Yale borrowing privileges, please fill out this application. You will receive email confirmation with instructions, once your request has been processed. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing.
