Library Course Reserve

Non-Moodle Courses

If you do not use Moodle in your course, you can still use Course Reserve. Most of the instructions on the previous pages will still apply.

What's different:

  1. Please notify us ( that you are not using Moodle so that we can set permissions appropriately for you.
  2. To create or update a reading list, go directly to the Course Reserve tool using this url:
  3. To give your students access to the List you've created, follow these steps:
    • Publish the list. When publishing, be sure to select these options so that it will be visible to your students:
      • List access: All students at the institution
      • Restricted material access: All students at the institution
  4. Obtain a permanent URL (permalink) for the list and share this URL with your students through your course syllabus or website.
    • In the Course Reserve tool, click the 3 dots to the right of your list name.
    • Choose Create a shareable link, then choose To List.​​​​
    • Copy the link that is shown and use it in your course materials.
